Legal Documents don't lie
In 1984 Adam Worsfold our current CEO, and Tony Brady started the Hi End HIFI company "ONIX AUDIO" in Brighton England, by 1985 Adam Worsfold had become the sole owner of the company so Adam registered the name " ONIX " in the UK for the first time - he did this in his personal name . It was granted as a full registered trade mark in 1988 in class 9 (Reproduction of sound, recording equipment, and satellite broadcast equipment) CLICK HERE for the TM Certificate in 1988

The Brand "ONIX" remained Adam Worsfold's from 1985 . Adam has since allowed others to use it with permission for fees under strict conditions . However in 2025 confusion about who owns the Brand seem to have grown online , as the Chinese company Shanling Digital Technology Dev Co LTD of China and in Taiwan, ( Absolute Sound Pty a retailer and its owner Mr Pu ) falsely claim ONIX as theirs since 1996 . They rewrite history to suit themselves by publishing a story that has no truth and nothing to verify it at all. They publish this on their site. Fact is it was used by them illegally from 1996 to 2021 now they are trying to change history CLICK HERE for the legal docs to verify the facts
Shanling of China made products in the past using the name ONIX without the legal right to do so, they must be considered fake . Shanling also claim a UK ONIX history as theirs - this is 100% false and misleading they have nothing to do with the UK - "NOTHING made with ONIX as brand before 2021 was legally made by Shanling in China , or legally made by Shanling Digital Technology of China and sold by Absolute Sound in Taiwan .. Up to 2021 they were using the brand ONIX as their own illegally without any legal right whatsoever . Shanling of China IS NOT ONIX AUDIO UK and never has been . They are a just an Chinese generic company making generic products and trying to fool the buyers they are ONIX . They continually pretend to be ONIX AUDIO ... this is false .
If Shanling has lied about its history, and illegally used our brand and lied about where they make it ....
Is Shanling of China a company you can trust about anything you buy from them ?

Legal Action for IP Infringement
Legal action in China has proven to be a waste of money, even when we win Chinese Companies never pay and you cant make them pay , certainly not in China. Shanling didn't pay last time we won CLICK HERE . They don't respect IP rights or design rights - they steal both. We have lost count the times we have tried to enforce our rights against Chinese companies . Its futile and pointless. We must rely on people seeing the truth , and understanding its all about integrity not myth . The world suffers from this as others refuse to progress to have China steal their work. This stalls progress so we all stop . We encourage research and learning, and reading documents to verify if in doubt - We are proud of what we do, and documents prove the false history that most Chinese companies are complicit in creating .

Chinese Companies are well known to abuse intellectual property rights, it really seems cultural . They are also known to fabricate spec, of performance and materials used .
